St. Mary and St. John the Baptist Coptic Orthodox Church of Staunton, VA

St. Mary and St. John the Baptist Coptic Orthodox Church (SMSJB) has a growing congregation working to worship God in all His glory. We were given the blessing to establish this church by H.H. Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria in 2011. We have made immense progress (pictures available on our Photos page) since then, and we hope to continue to grow our congregation and connection with the community in the years to come. If you have any questions about our church, please visit our Contact Us page to get in touch with us or to get added to our mailing list for church updates!

About Father Youhanna Youssef

Father Youhanna Youssef has been serving the Valley since October 2018. He serves our church as well as St. Marina's Coptic Orthodox Church of Winchester every week. Before coming to the United States, Father Youhanna worked directly under H.H. Pope Tawadros II in Egypt serving as Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Coptic Church. Prior to becoming a priest, Father Youhanna taught English as a instructor at the American University in Cairo. His major background in English makes him a perfect fit for our area as he does a majority of his services in English.
